🎉 Happy New Year, VLC Families! 🎉
We’re excited to welcome students back and start January with a strong focus on learning, growth, and support! Students will participate in daily ELA and Math, with Mondays focused on EDP, Tuesdays on Life Skills, and Wednesdays on our Be Good People work. We’ve also opened a new Study Space Room at the VLC for studying, Edmentum work, and testing in a supportive environment.
Please remember our device policy—personal devices are stored in our Secure Charging Station during the school day with a quick lunch check-in. We’re also thrilled to welcome Mr. Eric Gills, our new Academic Interventionist, to the VLC team!
As we head toward the end of the semester, keep pacing goals, EDP/Xello tasks, life coach check-ins, and upcoming dates in mind. Thank you for your continued partnership—we’re looking forward to a productive and positive month ahead! 💙📚✨

🎃 A Fun-Filled Halloween at the VLC! 👻
Dear Families,
We had such a spook-tacular time celebrating Halloween Eve! 🧡 Students loved trick-or-treating at Central Office, decorating cookies, and enjoying all the festive fun around campus. The laughter, smiles, and creativity made it a day to remember—our VLC students truly know how to make the season bright! 🍪🍬
As we move forward, please take a moment to review our VLC Device & Pass Policies beginning Nov. 3, 2025:
📱 Devices: Students will place personal devices (phones, tablets, etc.) in our Secure Charging Station during the school day. Devices may be used at lunch, then returned for safekeeping.
❗ Reminder: Students who refuse to follow this policy will be sent home for the day.
💬 Parent Support: If this expectation is difficult, your child can meet with their life coach via Google Meet instead of in person.
🎟️ Passes: Students leaving the hub for any reason will carry a physical pass.
💙 Accommodations: Students with verified needs will receive personalized support.
These expectations help students stay focused, safe, and ready to learn while building independence and responsibility. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support! 💫
Warmly,
Ms. Kellie Robertson
